Quality takes time, y’all.  We marinate our chicken for at least 12 hours in our signature blend of Louisiana seasonings for flavor as lively as any party in New Orleans!

We’re working hard towards removing all colors, flavors, and preservatives from artificial sources from our fried chicken menu items in the US by the end of 2022, and it’s our goal that by this time, our chicken in the US will also have no added MSG.

Don’t worry – all that crunch, juiciness and bold taste you love stays the same. Now that’s what we call keeping it real!

At Popeyes, “Love that chicken” means so much more than the food.

We’re committed to sourcing 100% cage-free eggs in the US by the end of 2025.

We like our food to taste like home. For Popeyes restaurants in the US*, all our chicken comes from American farms. Same for the eggs in our batter. Our red beans are grown in Colorado, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

*The contiguous United States and excludes Army and Air Force Exchange Service locations.

Our chicken is free of added hormones and steroids*

We’re working to improve broiler chicken health by supporting the use of integrated animal welfare programs to promote practices that support and address the globally-recognized five freedoms of animal welfare.

It’s also our goal that by 2021, our chicken in the US will be raised with no antibiotics important to human medicine, as defined by the World Health Organization. Learn more about our approach to animal welfare here.

Packaging with the planet in mind

From a packaging perspective, this year Popeyes® is removing all expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam cups globally and replacing them with paper cups.  The brand is working towards implementing requirements for all approved fiber-based packaging to come from certified or recycled sources globally, in 2021.

Responsibly sourcing palm oil

Not all palm oils are created equal when it comes to environmental impact. Popeyes® now sources palm oil (both directly sourced and for all branded food products with greater than 1% palm oil or palm kernel oil as an ingredient)which is RSPO Mass Balance certified or covered by RSPO certification and credits for its entire menu globally, per the brand’s Palm Oil Sourcing Policy. The commitment to contribute to the production of certified sustainable palm oil is part of Popeyes® ambition to support deforestation-free supply chains.
